Hai dous días fun a fotografar dous punto de interese de Orto, Abegondo:
Un pode ver o nome inscrito na portada da igrexa de "San Martíño do Horto". É dicir, cun esforzo incrible, os que ditaron o texto admiten, de modo inxenuo, que Orto é galego e corríxeno poñéndolle un h.
Mágoa que non diran un paso máis e non declararan que aquilo era "San Martín del Huerto". Sería completar o despropósito, terminar o toponicidio.
Pero imos ver o máis elaborado implícito (eu non teño os apuntes da toponimia da Xunta nos que se basea esa hipótese). Ort é alemán e significa "lugar", o cal é perfectamente acaido para describir un lugar. Xa explicamos como e porqué ese topónimo celta "cor" inunda a xeografía galega. Pero Orto é único. A wikipedia só fala de Orto como amencer dun astro, saída dun astro. Ben, tamén teñen Orto (San Martiño) pero é difícil de atopar.

Penso que é suficientemente claro que ort é unha palabra, como derivado de ar, moi común en celta, posiblemente o topónimo Orto sexa unha parte dunha frase celta truncada que o contiña, pero que non saibamos continuar. En resumo, ort en alemán tería máis sentido que o ort celta (porque lle falta algo que debería continuar na frase, seguramente unha palabra longa e extraña que se suprimiu co paso do tempo). Sen embargo tamén indica lugar, posición, como vimos.
Sin dubidalo, eu, a pesar diso, penso que é celta.
